***After the Holocaust

by Howard Greenfeld

Reviewed February 25, 2002.
Greenwillow Books, 2001.  146 pages.

This book gives a different perspective on the Holocaust than most, focusing on the lives of Jews after the war.  Most had no home and no family to go back to.  Anti-Semitism was not limited to Germans, and Poles, Russians, and Hungarians did not welcome them back.  This book tells the stories of several Holocaust survivors who were children during the war.  It tells how they coped with the resettlement camps and how they found a place to live.

This book was interesting and told a part of the story I hadn’t heard much of before.  The book has many photographs, and is easy reading.
