I thought that telling a person’s life in poetry was an interesting
and unusual idea. Since I read
Carver, I’m finding that we
have several new books using the same idea. This one is different,
though, in that it’s telling the story of a fictional character instead
of a real one. The result is fun and entertaining. There are
poems from the perspective of her father, her step-sisters, her cat, her
shoes. An imaginative way to tell an old story.
