**The Christmas Basketby Debbie Macomber Reviewed October 15, 2002.
MIRA Books, Ontario, Canada, 2002. 238 pages. Available at Sembach Library (F MAC). Here’s a nice, heart-warming story, a romance that doesn’t make you feel your mind’s been dragged through the gutter. Noelle McDowell is going back to see her family in Rose, Oregon, for the first time in ten years. She left after the love of her life, Thom Sutton, jilted her after she’d agreed to elope with him. Noelle and Thom’s mothers had been feuding for years. This year, circumstances have thrown them together in the preparation of Christmas baskets for the poor. Not only that, but circumstances seem to be throwing Noelle and Thom together, too. There aren’t any big surprises here in how things turn out, but getting there is fun. This is a good choice if you’re looking for a nice story for holiday reading.
