I enjoyed John Grisham’s
Skipping
Christmas, so I thought I’d try another thriller author’s attempt
at a Christmas story. David Baldacci pulls it off even better than
John Grisham did. This is a nice heart-warming romance and just right
to put you in a festive mood for Christmas.
Tom Langdon has been banned from domestic air travel because of
a misunderstanding with security personnel. So he decides to travel
by train from Washington, D. C., to Los Angeles to see his on-again, off-again
girlfriend for Christmas.
Who should show up on the train but the love of his life, the woman
who left him because he never got around to asking her to marry him.
Of course, we all think we know where the plot is heading, but David Baldacci
slips in some nice twists along the way. This is a fun story, with
amusing characters and the nostalgic atmosphere of train travel.
