This book isn’t so much a how-to book as it is a book about the philosophy
behind designing good web pages. It does include good, practical tips
along the way.
Jeffrey Veen covers the history of the web, principles for making your
interface consistent with others, ways of structuring your site, and ways
to improve users’ experiences with your site.
I wish that I had read this book before I posted my site, because he did
convince me that I should convert it to a data base driven site, as I had
always meant to do. Only it would have been much simpler if I had
started out that way! Anyway, he gave good tips about how to approach
any such changes.
This is an excellent, highly readable guide to designing effective and
attractive web sites.
