America Remembers September 11, 2001

compiled by the editors of Life magazine

Reviewed December 31, 2001.
2001.  Available at Sembach Library (973.931 ONE).

This book is a beautiful tribute to those who died on September 11th.  Although the book is sobering and sad, it seems appropriate at the end of a year that will always be remembered for that one event.  The people at Life magazine did an excellent job.  They present a multi-faceted look at what happened, including some amazing pictures, and tell stories of individuals killed or affected by the disaster.  Reading it was a good way to pay tribute to the lives that were cut short.  It will be a long time before our minds can truly come to grips with this tragedy.  This book is a step in that direction.
