***The Treehouse Book

by Peter and Judy Nelson

with David Larkin

Reviewed May 7, 2004.
Universe Publishing, New York, 2000.  224 pages.
Available at Sembach Library (690.89 NEL).

A book about treehouses.  I found the topic intriguing and irresistible.  “The Treehouse Book” does begin with some tips on building a treehouse, but most of the book is taken up with pictures and examples.  The authors have a business custom-building treehouses, and some of their creations are amazing.

There were treehouses for children, but also complete guesthouses in trees, with bathrooms and kitchens.  My favorites were the office treehouses.  Now I can daydream of being a famous writer some day with an office in a treehouse!

If you ever were a kid who wanted a treehouse, browsing through this book will captivate your imagination.  If you want to vacation in a treehouse, it will tell you where to go.  If you seriously plan to build a treehouse, it will give you important things to consider and wonderful ideas.
