I’m familiar with William Steig’s work mostly through his children’s
picture books. However, he also spent years writing and drawing cartoons
and covers for The New Yorker. This oversize book is a retrospective
of his work, telling about his life and showing the progression of his
art through the years. It makes interesting and entertaining reading.
