****Milo's Hat Trickby Jon AgeeReviewed May 25, 2002.
Michael Di Capua Books, 2001. 32 pages. Available at Sembach Library. (E AGE) This is a delightfully done picture book. It’s got a good story, and kids enjoy the pictures. I read it this week to Timmy’s 1st and 2nd grade class and got a great response. Milo is a lousy magician. He needs to find a rabbit to jump out of his hat. Instead, he finds a bear who learned from a rabbit how to jump into hats. The only trouble is that in his excitement, Milo takes the wrong hat off the train when he goes back to the magic show. When the unwitting man with Milo’s hat whistles, the bear jumps out of the hat, throwing everyone into confusion. Will Milo and the bear find one another? It’s a fun story, with a cute ending.Reviews of other books by Jon Agee: Terrific Orangutan Tongs Life on Mars Otto: A Palindrama
