This book’s great fun for reading aloud. Mr. Minky is bringing
his son Finnegan a double-dip-chocolate-chip-and-cherry ice cream with
rainbow twinkles and chopped-nut sprinkles. In order to get home
before it melts, he takes the shortcut on his bike down the lumpy, bumpy
jungle track.
Along the way, the ice cream is spied by progressively larger animals,
but Mr. Minky outwits them all.
Margaret Mahy spins a tale that rolls off the tongue and will have your
mouth watering for ice cream before it’s done. Simply Delicious!
