Since I read all of The Enchanted Forest Chronicles to my 11-year-old son at bedtime, I decided to follow up with this collection of short stories by the same author.

This collection of fantasy stories is quirky and funny and touching.  There are no duds among the stories.  All of them are entertaining or thought-provoking, and they worked well as bedtime stories.

My favorite, of course, is the last story, which features Cimorene of the Enchanted Forest.  She encounters The Frying Pan of Doom!  I love Patricia C. Wrede’s playfulness with fantasy elements!  What do you think The Frying Pan of Doom might do against an enemy?  I will only say that it seems delightfully appropriate.
