Here\u2019s a sweet story of a tortoise and his Sarah.<\/p>\n

Truman loves his Sarah. They are well-suited; both are peaceful and pensive. Truman\u2019s tank is by the window where he can look down on the street with honking taxis, growling trash trucks, shrieking cars, and the number 11 bus, which traveled south.<\/p>\n

But one day, Sarah does some new things. She has an extra big breakfast, wears new clothes, and straps on a big backpack.<\/p>\n

Sarah placed seven green beans in Truman\u2019s dish \u2013
\ntwo more than usual!<\/p>\n

She kissed her finger and touched it to his shell and whispered,
\n\u201cBe brave.\u201d
\nThen she left.<\/p>\n

Not to worry.
\nShe\u2019d left before.
\nAnd she\u2019d always returned.<\/p>\n

But this time
\nthat backpack was particularly big.
\nAnd Sarah looked particularly pensive.
\nAnd that banana,
\nand that bow, and \u2013
\nlet\u2019s not forget about those extra beans!<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Truman saw something
\nhe\u2019d never seen before:<\/p>\n

Sarah boarding the number 11 bus going south.<\/p>\n

The bus roared away.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Truman tries to be patient. But eventually, Truman knows he must go after his Sarah!<\/p>\n

What follows is brave and bold and adventurous and extraordinary \u2013 for a tortoise.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t worry \u2013 the book has a happy ending. Meanwhile, children get the position of knowing what\u2019s going on while someone smaller waits and wonders and learns to trust.<\/p>\n

The pictures turn this story into something utterly charming. I don\u2019t think anyone could read this book without falling in love with small, pensive Truman the tortoise.<\/p>\n
