Okay, this one\u2019s just incredibly silly. But I can\u2019t wait to booktalk it in the elementary schools next summer.<\/p>\n

On the endpapers in front, Mr. McMonkey asks the reader:<\/p>\n

Do you like action?
\nAre you a good guesser?
\nThen get ready to play\u2026<\/p>\n

CRASH, SPLASH, or MOO!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And the book begins:<\/p>\n

Fearless daredevils perform amazing stunts, and YOU guess what happens.<\/p>\n

Will they CRASH?
\nWill they SPLASH?
\nOr will they MOO?<\/p>\n

Guess right, and win a delicious banana!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The team members are Action Clam, \u201cAmerica\u2019s favorite splashin\u2019, crashin\u2019 stunt clam,\u201d and a cow \u201cwho does cow stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are five stunts. Let\u2019s just say that it\u2019s pretty easy to guess what will happen. In the first one, for example, Action Clam races in a car toward a big tower of blocks.<\/p>\n

Raise your hand if you guess CRASH!
\nRaise your hand if you guess SPLASH!
\nRaise your hand if you guess MOO!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When a dramatic CRASH happens, if you guessed right, \u201cYou just won your first banana!\u201d<\/p>\n

And I simply can\u2019t express with a description how very silly this book is. For example, after the second stunt, Mr. McMonkey throws in the line, \u201cOkay, Frankie Two-Bananas, let\u2019s see if you can guess the next one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Did I mention the results are easy to guess?<\/p>\n

But oh, how much fun!<\/p>\n

Check this book out the next time you\u2019re feeling silly.<\/p>\n

Addendum: This book was indeed hugely fun to read aloud to younger elementary-age kids. So much joy comes out of these pages!<\/p>\n
