He sustained severe brain damage, and neither of their lives were ever the same again.  He has no long-term memory, and lives in an eternal now.  When she visits him, she never knows what he will say.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Abigail has built a life (with three dogs) quite different than the one she had before the accident.  This book contains musings and meditations on that life, thoughts about what it means to love.  She lost her husband as he was and gained someone who sees the world in a unique way.  She had to struggle with guilt when she found herself enjoying the life she&#8217;d built.<\/p>\n<p>Abigail Thomas takes us with her on her journey.
