{"id":108,"date":"2008-04-25T22:45:55","date_gmt":"2008-04-26T02:45:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sonderbooks.com\/sonderjourneys\/2008\/04\/25\/bluebells-and-home\/"},"modified":"2008-04-25T22:45:55","modified_gmt":"2008-04-26T02:45:55","slug":"bluebells-and-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sonderbooks.com\/sonderjourneys\/?p=108","title":{"rendered":"Bluebells and Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When my son got accepted to Thomas Jefferson High School, a shift happened in my mind.<\/p>\n<p>Before this, I was still hoping for reconciliation with my husband and assumed that would mean I would move to live with him.\u00c2\u00a0 As I followed him for all of our married lives.\u00c2\u00a0 That&#8217;s what wives do, right?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still hoping for reconciliation.\u00c2\u00a0 But now, whether or not that happens, I am making a Home here.\u00c2\u00a0 My son gets to go to the BEST high school in the nation!\u00c2\u00a0 As long as I live in Fairfax County.\u00c2\u00a0 We went to the Freshman Preview Night and were so impressed.\u00c2\u00a0 There is simply no way I&#8217;d have the heart to give him a taste of that wonderful school and then pull him out and make him go to an ordinary school.<\/p>\n<p>So &#8212; at least for the next four years, I fully intend to live in Fairfax County.<\/p>\n<p>And you know what?\u00c2\u00a0 I like that idea!\u00c2\u00a0 I can make a home here.<\/p>\n<p>I have wonderful friends here &#8212; new friends as well as friends I&#8217;ve known almost my entire life.\u00c2\u00a0 I have a fabulous, loving and welcoming church where people worship God and talk about God and God guides and directs.\u00c2\u00a0 Tim was already going to an excellent school, and in high school he&#8217;s going to go to an even better one.\u00c2\u00a0 And I got a wonderful job working as a Children&#8217;s Librarian, working with more fabulous people.<\/p>\n<p>Truly God is richly blessing me, right here and right now.<\/p>\n<p>I had a Friday off, with Tim in school.\u00c2\u00a0 I work for Fairfax County, and a daily news update mentioned that it was now Bluebell Season at Bull Run Regional Park.\u00c2\u00a0 Shortly after cherry blossom season, the bluebells burst into bloom by the riverside.\u00c2\u00a0 The trees still don&#8217;t have enough foliage to block the sunlight, and the flowers turn into a sea of blue.<\/p>\n<p>Well, Bull Run Regional Park isn&#8217;t far at all from my home.\u00c2\u00a0 (And I&#8217;d heard of Bull Run since I was a little girl &#8212; when my brother did a panorama of the Civil War battle.\u00c2\u00a0 Pretty cool to actually see it!)\u00c2\u00a0 The day was glorious.\u00c2\u00a0 The sun was shining and breezes were blowing.\u00c2\u00a0 An utterly wonderful day for a walk.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The trail ended up being a nice loop along Cub Run and Bull Run, about a 45-minute walk with stops for pictures, and totally flat.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a magnificent way to spend some time, and I felt I was truly appreciating my new, beautiful home!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image104\" height=\"432\" alt=\"Bluebellcover.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/sonderbooks.com\/sonderjourneys\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/Bluebellcover.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll post a link to my facebook album of pictures as soon as I get them edited.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When my son got accepted to Thomas Jefferson High School, a shift happened in my mind.
