This week, we’re covering Messianic Psalms – Psalms about how the Anointed One will come and make all things right. Since I don’t claim to be able to prophesy, but I do know that God wins in the end, when I write a psalm in this pattern, I like to call it a Happy Ending psalm. It’s a good pattern to use when praying about injustices out in society.<\/p>\n

Here’s one I wrote this week:<\/p>\n

From Psalm 72:4<\/strong><\/p>\n

May he defend the afflicted among the people
\n and save the children of the needy;
\n may he crush the oppressor.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

O Lord,
\nMay our governments do this —
\n defend the afflicted among the people,
\n save the children of the needy,
\n crush the oppressor.<\/p>\n

Thank you that, in the end, your kingdom will bring
\n righteousness and justice for the oppressed.<\/p>\n

Help me to learn what my part is
\n in relieving the oppressed
\n in defending the afflicted
\n in helping the needy.<\/p>\n

If my part is to supply books
\n to help them know they’re not alone,
\n then help me do my part
\n and not be silenced.<\/p>\n

Father, our world is so far from safe
\n for so many of your children.
\nMay your kingdom come
