***William Shakespeare's Hamletretold by Bruce Covillepictures by Leonid Gore
Reviewed May 25, 2004.
Dial Books, New York, 2004. 40 pages. Available at Sembach Library (J 813.54 COV). Here’s an excellent retelling of the story of Hamlet, prince of Denmark, accessible to kids and adults alike. I would recommend this book to older students studying Hamlet, because it enabled me to keep all the main events and people straight. Bruce Coville even includes famous lines and puts them in the context of the story. The evocative, eerie illustrations add beautifully to the presentation.
