This book is part of the
Young Dreamers series. We have
another one of the series at the library,
I Am a Gymnast.
Both books are beautifully photographed.
I am a Skater, tells the story of twelve-year-old Emily Hughes.
She’s a skater from a family of skaters. The pictures and text tell
about what her life is like as she practices and competes as a skater.
It makes an entertaining book even for someone like me who has no plans
of being a skater.
Both of these books are hidden away in the juvenile biography section,
so I want to point them out. This is a lovely and simple introduction
to what it is like for a kid to be a skater.
