***PeanutsThe Art of Charles M. Schulzedited by Chip Kidd

A Sonderbooks' Best Book of 2001 Pantheon Books. 2001. This is in the adult new books section of the library, but every member of my family read and enjoyed it, from my 7-year-old on up. If you love Peanuts, you’ll welcome the publication of this book. It focuses on the development of his art and the characters in the strip. The comics are actually photographed from old newspapers and his original drawings. The focus is mainly on the early strips of the 50’s and 60’s, since that’s when most of the personalities of the characters developed. It’s interesting to see Schroeder’s first playing of the piano and Snoopy’s first thought with words. This book is truly a delight!
