***Poems To Read
A New Favorite Poem Project Anthology

According to the Introduction to this book, the Favorite Poem Project
involved gathering favorite poems of Americans of all ages and all walks
of life. The first anthology the project produced was called
America’s
Favorite Poems. This collection also includes poems chosen by
participants in the project, and many comments from participants are included
before the poems they chose. I liked the wide variety of ages, jobs
and locations represented.
This collection is more diverse and less familiar to me than most
collections of poems I’ve read. This made it interesting and surprising.
There were a few old favorites, but mostly the poems were unfamiliar,
new and interesting. This is a nice collection, and fun to dip into
to set your mind thinking.
