****Click, Clack, MooCows That Typeby Doreen Croninpictures by Betsy Lewin Reviewed

Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, 2000. 32 pages. Available at Sembach Library (E CRO). “Farmer Brown has a problem. His cows like to type. All day long he hears Click, clack, MOO. Click, clack, MOO. Clickety, clack, MOO.” So begins this delightful story. It turns out that the cows are typing out demands. It’s cold in the barn and they want electric blankets, or they won’t give milk. Farmer Brown doesn’t give in at first, and ends up with a full-scale strike on his hands. They need a neutral party (a duck) to negotiate between the two sides. This book is funny and clever, with delightful illustrations. The refrain of “Click, clack, MOO” makes it a perfect read-aloud that is sure to please.
