****Gossie and Gertieby Olivier DunreaReviewed February 1, 2003.
Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, 2002. 32 pages. Available at Sembach Library (E DUN). A Sonderbooks’ Stand-out of 2003: #9, New Picture Books Here’s a simple little picture book perfect for reading to very young children who have just learned to sit still long enough to hear a story. Gossie and Gertie are two little ducks who wear brightly colored boots and are best friends. Gossie’s a little bigger and thinks Gertie should follow her everywhere. Sometimes Gertie does follow, and sometimes she doesn’t. Each page has one sentence along with a bright and simple drawing. I hope that I get a chance to share it with a two-year-old some time soon. This book doesn’t make you laugh out loud, but it does give you a satisfied smile. Review of another book by Olivier Dunrea: Hanne's Quest
