A Sonderbooks' Best Book of 2001
Houghton Mifflin Company.  2001.  Available at Sembach Library (E LES).

This book is also great fun.  Don’t try to read it when you’re tired, or the delightful pictures of lazy sloths will soothe you right to sleep!

This is the story of a school for sloths.  The sloths don’t work hard, to put it mildly.  They do a little synchronized yawning, take three hours for lunch, and then take their afternoon nap.  When Sparky, an energetic sloth comes to school, she is not appreciated at all.

Then, however, a school inspector comes, ready to shut the school down because of their lack of learning.  How Sparky makes the sleepy sloths appear to be hard workers is clever and funny.  This book is absolutely a delight.
