The Three Pigs is a creative and delightful picture book.
It was tremendously popular when I read it to Timothy’s first grade class
in June, and, even though Timothy has mostly moved on to chapter books,
he did ask for it for his birthday.
The book starts out with the typical story of the three pigs, but
the wolf blows the first pig completely out of the book. This pig
gets his brothers to come out too, and they explore Bookland (having become
three-dimensional). They rescue a dragon about to be slain in one
book, and end up figuring out a way to deal with the wolf back in their
own story.
Kids enjoy the cleverness of this book, and, for that matter, so do
adults!
