***Poem a Day, Volume 3

366 Poems, Old and New--One for Each Day of the Year

edited by Retta Bowen, Nick Temple, Nicholas Albery, and Stephanie Wienrich

Reviewed January 2, 2006.
Zoland Books (Steerforth Press), Hanover, New Hampshire, 2003.  401 pages.

Here’s a third volume of poems for every day of the year.  I’ve enjoyed going through each of the volumes in different years.  I think my favorite is the first one, because it includes many more familiar poems.  However, it’s always good to be exposed to the work of modern poets or less familiar works from the past. Reading a poem a day is a nice habit to get into, and these books are a perfect way to start.
