***Playing For Keeps

by Joan Lowery Nixon

Reviewed September 16, 2001.
2001.

I’ve decided that the next time a girl comes to the desk at Sembach Library to check out a pile of 20 Nancy Drew books, I’m going to hand this book to her!  This is a mystery story starring a teenage girl as the one embroiled in the situation.  She gets to go on a cruise with her grandmother and ends up entangled in an attempt to get a handsome Cuban teen into the United States.  There are high stakes involved when the young man is accused of murder.  This was fun, light reading.  (I read it at the start of the week when I was in the mood for such things.)
