*****The Last BattleBook 7 of The Chronicles of Narniaby C. S. Lewis Reviewed May 7, 2004. The Last Battle is the seventh and last
book of The Chronicles of Narnia. In this book, Tirian,
the last king of Narnia, must combat a false Aslan who is deceiving and
enslaving his people. With the help of Jill and Eustace from our
world, he
tries to combat the evil.
The wonderful part of this book is the glorious picture C. S. Lewis paints of heaven. I love his idea of “Further up and further in,” that heaven will not be sitting around on clouds playing harps, but that we will still be able to learn and grow and become wiser. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading these books to my second son and sharing the wonders of Narnia. He enjoys them now for their stories. I know that as he grows, he will find more insights in these simple books, just as Aslan grows bigger when Lucy grows bigger. Review of the audio version of this book, performed by Patrick Stewart.
