****Toot and Puddle

I'll Be Home for Christmas

by Hollie Hobbie

Reviewed December 6, 2001.
Little, Brown and Company, 2001.  32 pages.  Available at Sembach Library (E HOB).

This is a warm and friendly Christmas book.  Puddle the pig is home at Woodcock Pocket (which we learn is in New England) waiting for his best friend Toot to return home from a family reunion in Edinburgh.  He doesn’t want to trim the tree without Toot.

An ice storm in Edinburgh and a snow storm in Boston conspire to keep Toot away.  When he has given up hope, along comes a sleigh with a mysterious driver, who takes him happily home.

A cheering holiday book, with lovely pictures.
